For Training Programmes

Deliver FRCR 2A teaching without building a question bank from scratch

The 2A Bank helps radiology academies and training programmes run structured FRCR 2A teaching without requiring tutors to write and format large numbers of questions themselves.

Candidates can complete selected questions or representative timed mock examinations before a teaching session. Tutors can then focus their time on discussing the clinical reasoning, important discriminators and common pitfalls rather than preparing the assessment material.

Supporting candidates and tutors

Institutional access provides a flexible teaching resource rather than a replacement for faculty expertise and discussion.

  • Ready-to-use questions across all six FRCR 2A modules
  • Representative timed mock examinations
  • Structured material for teaching and review sessions
  • Individual candidate accounts
  • Candidate progress and performance insights
  • Flexible access aligned with the programme's teaching calendar
  • Reduced question-writing and administrative burden for faculty
  • Optional pilot access for an initial cohort

A flexible teaching resource

Tutors retain control over how the resource is incorporated into their programme. The 2A Bank supports teaching rather than replacing the expertise and discussion provided by faculty.

Before a live review session

Candidates complete selected questions before faculty-led discussion.

Weekly timed mock examinations

Build an organised mock programme alongside scheduled teaching.

Topic-based teaching

Use a focused question set to frame a module or subspecialty session.

Targeted cohort support

Identify topics requiring further teaching while candidates practise independently.

Educational governance

Content is maintained through a structured review and quality-assurance process, with mechanisms for identifying and correcting potential issues. The 2A Bank is an independent educational resource and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Royal College of Radiologists.
